Understanding Results

What Each Result Means

VALID
The certificate exists, its SHA-256 hash matches the stored data exactly, and it has not been revoked. This credential is genuine and current.
✗
INVALID
No credential with this ID exists in the database. It was never issued through this system, or the ID was entered incorrectly.

REVOKED
The credential was valid when issued, but the institution has since cancelled it. The reason and revocation date are shown. Do not accept this credential.
⚠
TAMPERED
The certificate exists but its re-computed SHA-256 hash does not match the stored hash. The data was altered after issuance. Treat as fraudulent.
